<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Straddling the Middle East, Europe and Asia, the enigmatic capital of Azerbaijan sits on the coast of the opal-blue waters of the Caspian Sea, with the Caucasus Mountains to the west.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">At the beginning of this unique sightseeing tour, the car/minivan will take us to the twin gates of Old City. From there, we will walk to the inner city where you will go on a detailed tour, during which you will explore the Maiden Tower, 15th-century Shirvanshahs’ Palace, Museum of Miniature Books that is the only museum in the world dedicated to miniature editions of books. We&#8217;ll walk through the bustling narrow streets and alleyways and you will also discover traditional mosques with calligraphic facades, old hamams, merchants’ houses, charming trading streets made all the more colorful with quirky little art galleries and carpet shops. As soon as we finish Old City walking tour you will have 1 &#8211; 1.5 hours lunch/coffe or tea break and we&#8217;ll take you traditional local restaurants &#8211; world of colourful and delicious Azeri cuisine.</span></p>

After an impressive carpet tour, it is time to ride up in the Baku Funicular from the seaside to the three strikingly modern buildings known as the Flame Towers. This high-speed Funicular provides a stunning view over the city as it transports guests more than 1493 feet above ground. Selfies are still compulsory up here as the funicular conveniently lets you off at Highland Park, the landscaped terraces of which overlook the Bay of Baku and give the best view over the Baku Bay, National Flag Square and Seaside Boulevard.  The last sightseeing to be visited is Heydar Aliyev Center &#8211; an internationally recognized architectural marvel, Designed by the late Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid. Afterwards the bus/minivan will take us along the Seaside Boulevard where situated many landmarks, including multi-story shopping malls, an amusement park, a 5D cinema, a Ferris wheel. After the trip, our minibus/car will take you back to hotel or any place in the downtown based on your request.</span></p>

<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">This trip will help you to uncover the secrets of the Gobustan National Park and be acquainted with the amazing mud volcanoes as well as visit monuments of universal value in Absheron Peninsula</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Real magic in Baku starts further afield. Trip starts with visiting Bibi-Heybat Mosque. You will admire impressive minarets of Bibi-Heybat Mosque, a restored historical mosque at the entrance to the city from the airport side. With its elaborately decorated interior of green and gold, the mosque features Shirvan architecture with three domes. The old mosque was known as &#8220;the mosque of Fatima,&#8221; as called by French writer Alexander Dumas who traveled here in the 1840s. Following the Mosque, we will head directly to Gobustan to see Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape. A national historical landmark and a World Heritage Site, Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape preserves ancient stone relics, rock carvings, and mud volcanoes. Located on the Greater Caucasus mountain ridge, the reserve shelters more than 6,000 engraved images of prehistoric lifestyles, hunting, and animal and plant life, dating back between 5,000 and 40,000 years. Later on, the tour will continue to the Mud Volcano, which is not far from Gobustan National Museum. During this trip, you will get a great chance to see these amazing active volcanoes from very close distance. Watch mud bubbling out of the earth at Mud Volcanoes, strange geological formations bursting warm liquid set against a backdrop of mountains in Gobustan National Park. Fizzy, snorting bubbles and an occasional sound of snoring make a mesmerizing spectacle. The gurgling mud coming out at 1.2 m (4 ft) high spurts like mini volcanoes but is not hot; you can touch it or bring it home for skin treatment. The landscape here features cracked mud and several piles of hardened mud spewing muddy water. After an impressive volcano tour, we will invite you to taste most famous dishes of national cuisine in traditional local restaurant. Following the lunch break tour goes on with the excursion to the natural, historical and architectural moments of Absheron peninsula &#8211; a place of natural combustible gases entering the mountain Yanardagh (Burning mountain), temple of fire-worshipers “Ateshgah” and finally Gala State Historical Ethnographic Reserve. The ancient town dates back almost two and a half thousand years and became the Shirvan Empire’s capital between the 9th and 16th century. Historical attractions include the 900-year-old Gulistan Fortress, various medieval archaeological sites and mausoleums of former rulers. Shamakhi, the birthplace of many Azeri poets, produce wine and traditional carpets today. Shamakhi is also famous with its Astrophysical Observatory. The observatory located on the southeastern foothills of the Great Caucasus Mountain ridge.   After lunch break in the roadside local restaurant time to visit and see Gabala former capital of the Caucasus Albanians who ruled for 600 years (no relation to modern day Albania). With our private transport, it takes less than two hours to reach Gabala from Shamakhi. Once strategically located in the centre of the Silk Road, rulers fought to control an influential part of trade between East and West. You can see several ancient monuments including a 1000-year-old defence tower, a 13th-century mosque, and a mausoleum from two centuries ago as well as modern architecture. Old Qabala’s partially excavated ruins are 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) from the centre. Activities also includes riding cable car for breathtaking views over the stunning Caucasus Mountains. As soon as complete discovering top attractions of Gabala, delicious meals will be waiting for us in traditional local Azeri restaurant. <span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Today you will visit the Old Town of Baku “Icheri Sheher” and Absheron peninsula.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Drive to Ateshgah – temple of fire worshippers located in Surakhany village. Zoroastrians from India travelled thousands of kilometers to Ateshgah to worship fire coming out of the earth. Continue to Yanardag Mountain with natural gas burning for several thousands of years. Return to Baku for sightseeing tour. Visit Shirvanshahs’ Palace, Caravanserai, Maiden Tower, and the main market square, which has numerous art studios and souvenir stalls. Continue touring new Baku by exploring Nizami Street and Fountain Square.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">In the morning, meet your guide and driver at your hotel. Depart north-west of the capital city. Drive through Red Village (Krasnaya Sloboda), the biggest settlement of Mountain Jews in Azerbaijan. The road to Khinalug lies through the range of Great Caucasus mountains. On our way we will get as high as 2,000 m above the sea level. We will have numerous opportunities for taking photos on the way enjoying breathtaking views of the landscape. Khinalug is one of the most ancient settlements in the country where people have been continuously living for more than 5,000 years. Return to Baku. On the way back stop at Quba mass grave. Arrive in Baku. Overnight at the hotel.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 04: Baku – Shamakha – Lahij – Sheki</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">At 08:00, depart Baku and drive to Sheki. On the way, stop at Diri Baba Mausoleum in the village of Maraza. Continue to Shamakha to visit the historical Juma Mosque, which was restored in 2013. Weather permitting, drive through Girdimanchay River Canyon to visit Lahij, the 5th century, quaint corner high in Caucasus mountains with its rich history and beautiful architecture. Lahij is an ancient village with charming cobbled sidewalks famous for numerous traditional handicraft workshops (jewelry, copperware, wool carpets, pottery, daggers, and iron tools). Continue driving to Sheki, the pleasant and easily walkable medieval town set in a lush mountainous area. Sheki is especially known for local style sweet baklava. Arrival in Sheki at about 19:00 for overnight at the hotel.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 05: Sheki – Kish – Mingechevir – Ganja</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Check out from hotel and start sightseeing tour in Sheki. Visit medieval fortress, Sheki Khans Palace, history museum, handicrafts workshop, mosque-madrassah, and local bazaar. Depart Sheki and head to Ganja town (160 km, 2-3 hours).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Stop in Kish village see the first church in Caucasus (I cent.). One the way, visit Mingachevir town. Have a short drive around the city; pass by riverside, city center, and beautiful water reservoir. Continue driving to Ganja. Check-in to hotel on arrival. Overnight at the hotel.</span></p>

Continue to mausoleum of the last khan of Ganja Javad Khan; visit Chokek Hamam (medieval bathes). Continue sightseeing tour walking by Central Square, Sardar Baghi park, Alexander Nevski Christian Orthodox Church and Christian Temple Agvan Kilsasi.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Drive out of the city to a small town of Goygol to visit village Helenendorf that was settled in the winter of 1818-1819 by 194 Swabian German families. German architecture of local buildings will surprise you.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Change the vehicle to 4WD drive and head to Goygol national park and Goygol Lake &#8211; the picturesque lake surrounded by dense forest charms its visitors with its beauty and exquisiteness. Gobustan is home to almost half of world’s mud volcanoes.</span><br />

Start sightseeing tour in Baku. Visit Martyrs’ Lane, called ‘Shehidler Khiyabany’ among locals. When you walk through Martyrs’ Lane, you will find a beautiful view overlooking Baku’s coastline. Continue touring new Baku and exploring architecture of 19-20th centuries: Nizami Street, Fountain Square, Nizami Ganjavi monument, Rasul-Zade Street. Pay a visit to Azerbaijan History National Museum and move to the old part of the city – Icheri Sheher. Visit Maiden Tower, Shirvanshahs’ Palace, Caravanserai, and market square with numerous art studios and souvenir stalls. An excellent round-up to the city tour will be a visit to the richest bank of Azeri carpets – National Carpets Museum. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a traditional Azeri restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 02: Baku – Absheron Peninsula – Gobustan – Baku</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Today you will visit the area of the Greater Baku and Absheron Peninsula. Start with Gobustan National Park. Pay a visit to the Petroglyphs Museum and explore petroglyphs dating back to 10,000 BC. Continue to the mud volcanoes in Gobustan Reserve. Gobustan is home to almost half of the world’s mud volcanoes. Later drive to Ateshgah – a temple of fire worshippers located in Surakhany village. Zoroastrians travelled thousands of kilometers from India to Ateshgah to worship fire coming out of the earth. Continue to Yanardag Mountain, where natural gas has been burning for several thousands of years. Return to Baku. Overnight at the hotel.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 03: Baku – Khinalug – Baku</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Morning departure to the northern part of Azerbaijan – Quba region. Visit one of most ancient settlements in the country – Khinalug (210 km, 3-4 hours). The road to Khinalug is a picturesque mountain pass at an altitude of 2,000 m. Enjoy breathtaking landscape. People have been living in Khinalug for more than 5,000 years. Return to Baku. On the way back, stop at Quba mass grave, Sakina Khanum Mosque, medieval bath hammam, and carpet workshop. Overnight at the hotel.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 04: Baku – Lahij – Sheki</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">In the morning, depart Baku and drive to Sheki. Stop on the way in Ven Dam village in Gabala (Qabala) province and explore ruins of ancient Caucasian Albania capital. Continue to Basqal village and taste local mineral water “Bado” there. Drive through the Girdimanchay River Canyon to visit Lahij, a 5th century place rich in its historic and architectural values. Lahij is an ancient village with charming eye-catching sidewalks inlaid with stones. It is famous for its medieval water supply and sewage systems, as well as traditional jewelry, copperware, carpets, pottery, daggers, and iron tools workshops. Continue driving to Sheki. Arrival in Sheki. Overnight at the hotel.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 05: Sheki – Kish – Shemakha – Baku</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Check out from the hotel and start sightseeing tour in Sheki. Visit medieval fortress, Sheki Khans Palace (currently under the restoration, observation from the outside), history museum, handicrafts workshop, mosque-madrassah, and local bazaar. Depart to Kish village and see the first church in Caucasus (1 century) and Old Albanian castle. Drive to Shemakha. The town was the capital of Shirvan Empire in 8-15th centuries. Visit a residence of Shirvan Dynasty Gulistan fortress for the city&#8217;s defense in 11-12 centuries, which also served as the last refuge of Shirvan Dynasty. Continue to the Mausoleum of Addy-Gyumbez (“The Seven Domes”) with numerous burial places of Shamakhi governors, and Djuma Cathedral Mosque.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Continue driving to Baku. Arrive in Baku. Free time. Overnight at the hotel.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 02: – Baku – city tour (Azerbaijan)</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">At 10:00, meet with guide and start sightseeing tour in Baku. Start at famous Heydar Aliyev Center, Congress center and Convention Center amazing examples of modern architecture and representation of new Baku. Visit Memory Alley – “Shehidler Khiyabany”, from where you can have a great panoramic view of Baku city. Continue touring new Baku and exploring architecture of XIX- XX centuries: Nizami Street, Fountain Square, Nizami Ganjavi monument, Rasul-Zade Street. Move to the old part of the city – Icheri Sheher. Visit Maiden Tower, Shirvan Shahs’ Palace, Caravanserai, and market square with numerous art studios and souvenir stalls. An excellent round-up to the city tour will be visit to the richest bank of Azeri carpets – National Carpets Museum. Overnight at hotel.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 03: – Baku – Absheron Peninsula – Gobustan – Baku (Azerbaijan)</span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Today you will visit the area of the Greater Baku and Absheron peninsula. Start with Gobustan National Park. Pay a visit to the Petroglyphs Museum and explore petroglyphs dating back to 10,000 BC. Continue to mud volcanoes in Gobustan Reserve. Gobustan is home to almost half of world’s mud volcanoes. Later drive to Ateshgah – temple of fire worshippers located in Surakhany village. Zoroastrians from India travelled thousands of kilometers to Ateshgah to worship fire coming out of the earth. Drive to Yanardag Mountain with natural gas burning for several thousands of years. Return to Baku. Overnight at hotel.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 04: – Baku – Lahij – Sheki </span></strong><br />
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">In the morning, depart Baku and drive to Sheki town. On the way, visit Diri Baba mausoleum in Maraza village. Continue to Shamakha and have a sightseeing of historical Juma Mosque, Yeddi Gumbez Mausoleum, and the Shirvan Shah&#8217;s family grave yard. Drive through Girdimanchay River’s canyon to visit Lahij, the 5th century place rich in its historic and architectural values. Lahij is an ancient village with charming eye-catching sidewalks inlaid by stones. It is famous for medieval water supply and sewage systems as well as traditional workshops making jewelry, copperware, carpets, pottery, daggers, and iron tools. Continue driving to Sheki. Arrival in Sheki for overnight.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 05: – Sheki – Zaqatala International Airport</span></strong><br />

Visit Sheki medieval fortress, Sheki Khans Palace, local History Museum, handicrafts workshop, mosque-madrassah, and local bazaar. Later transfer to Zaqatala International Airport for flight back to home. </span></p>
