Welcome to Jamaica! If you purchased airport transfer, your tour guide/driver will be waiting for you at the Norman Manley International Airport arrivals to transfer you to your Kingston hotel accommodation.

Today you’ll take a full-day city tour of Kingston, the capital of Jamaica and the “heartbeat of the island.” We start this excursion off by exploring the buzzing capital city. Attractions visited while in Kingston:

Fort Charles and the town of Port Royal: the only Sunken City in the Western Hemisphere.

Devon House: 19th century mansion with the best frozen treats in Jamaica at the Devon House Ice Cream.

Bob Marley Museum: former residence and studio of the Reggae icon, Bob Marley.

Emancipation Park: a rare jewel in the heart of Kingston, the seven acres of the park will take your breath away.

The University of the West Indies: largest university in the English-speaking Caribbean. Home to rich culture and heritage dating back to the year when sugar plantations dominated the Liguanea Plains. Overnight in Kingston, Jamaica.

Day 03: Taste of Jamaica
In the morning, you will travel from Kingston to a plantation near Ocho Rios for an authentic taste of Jamaica. The drive is an hour and half from your hotel accommodations, so feel free to bring reading materials and headphones to listen to your own music. Here you will visit a family-owned farm where you will be welcomed with a blend of delicious juice. A local guide will take you on a walking tour around the plantation, educating you on the interesting plants and fruit treats that you will be able to sample as you tour. Taste the many fruits in season, drink the revitalised coconut water, and finish the tour with a traditional dish of Ackee and Saltfish (Jamaica’s National Dish) while enjoying freshly-made fruit juice.

Day 04: Cultural Excursion
Today the excursion will lead you to the last remaining wilderness in Jamaica, the Cockpit Country. Learn about how the Maroons established their free community. Hike to the Peace Cave where Cudjoe signed a peace treaty establishing the first African State in Jamaica.

There are 1,500 different species of flora and fauna that exist in the Cockpit Country region. Spot them as you hike through the area with your private tour guide. After lunch, you will visit a cave where the stalactites and stalagmites have intricately formed. You can even enjoy a swim in the natural pool on the inside of the cave.

Day 05: Optional Activity Day in Portland Jamaica (B)
In the morning, you will make the anticipated visit to the lush countryside of Portland. You will take a ride on a local handcrafted bamboo raft down the beautiful Rio Grande River. Half-way down the river, you’ll stop for a delicious Jamaican cuisine.

Our next stop is the Blue Lagoon. Take a boat ride across to the Monkey Island Beach or swim in the turquoise-blue, 180-feet deep waters fed by natural underground streams.

If you choose to opt out of the optional activity day, then today is a free day to do with as you please! Enjoy the serenity of the accommodations, spend the day at the beach, rent a surfboard and take a lesson for a couple of dollars, or simply relax at the beach. Day 06: Tour of the Blue Mountains
After breakfast, enjoy a private excursion tour of the Blue Mountains. Tour the Blue Mountain coffee farm, a secret natural spring, and more! The scenic ride takes you through the lush countryside of Jamaica’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area boasts very spectacular views and a diverse flora and fauna that can’t be seen anywhere else in the world. On this Blue Mountains excursion you can expect:

To pass through a military base which was established by the British military in 1840 and now being used as training camp for Jamaica Defence Force.
To walk one of the trails that lead to a magical waterfall while admiring the splendid mountain and city views.
To visit a coffee farm where you will see how the World Famous Blue Mountain coffee is produced and have a delicious cup of coffee.

Day 08: Waterfall Excursions
Today we will drive to the North Coast of Jamaica. We will begin the excursion by visiting the Shaw Park Gardens, a beautiful and peaceful garden with panoramic views of Ocho Rios. A trip to Jamaica would not have been complete without a visit to the famous Dunn’s River Falls. With the help of a guide, you will join the adventure and climb the cascading waterfalls. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing on the beach. Overnight in Kingston, Jamaica.

Day 09: Free Morning & Afternoon Shopping
Spend the morning at the beach socialising with your fellow travellers or just relax in nature. In the afternoon, we will go shopping for souvenirs for your family and friends back at home. Overnight in Kingston, Jamaica.

Final departure transfer to airport for flight back to home.

Today you will take a scenic ride through Jamaica’s lush countryside to visit the Blue and John Crow Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the sixth highest peak in the Caribbean.

Your Tour Companion will accompany you on this trip as well as a local tour guide from the Bicycle Club. The area boasts very spectacular views, and diverse flora and fauna not seen anywhere else in the world.

Enjoy an exhilarating downhill bike ride through the Blue Mountains. Stops along the way can include a local Jamaican school, a cool and refreshing waterfall, and a coffee farm to enjoy what some say is the best tasting coffee in the world – Blue Mountain Coffee.

Day 03: Ocho Rios Ziplining & Waterfalls Tour
Getting an early start to the day, we drive to the North Coast of Jamaica and pass through small towns to the lush rainforest parish of Ocho Rios.

On arrival, we will head out for a ziplining adventure. Just imagine yourself flying over a tropical rainforest on an exhilarating canopy zipline course! In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a tasty lunch before heading to the famous Dunn’s River falls for more ecotourism adventure.

Climb the cascading waterfalls, and relax along the beautiful beach afterwards. There’s no doubt that you and your group will have a great day on the Eco and Adventure Tours!

Day 04: Optional Activity Day
Today is a free day to spend as you wish, or take part in an optional whitewater rafting or ATV tour.

You will navigate through the beautiful and rugged terrain of Ocho Rios. The tour offers a great opportunity to go sightseeing in Jamaica – passing through farmland, the scenic countryside, and the beach. Release the adventure in you as you explore the Jamaica land that isn’t known to many.

The Whitewater Rafting Tour is located in Fairy Hills, approximately 30 minutes away from Ocho Rios. You’ll begin the tour with a short hike that will take you to your rafting starting point. Here you will ride down Class 1-2 rapids and feel the excitement as you travel downstream.

Day 05: Blue Hole Adventure Tour
In the morning, we’ll head out on the ultimate waterfall adventure.

The group will have an amazing few hours in the beautiful, blue and natural spring water. The local tour guides will help the group navigate through the forest to the Blue Hole waterfall.

After the waterfall adventure, we will enjoy a well-deserved Jamaican lunch. In the afternoon, the group will travel to Negril Beach – a charming village on the west coast of Jamaica.

Relax at one of the beach side bars, grab a bite to eat, have a cold Red Stripe, socialize with your fellow group members, listen to the waves crash along the shore, and watch the breathtaking sunset over the Caribbean Sea.

Ten days is a good length for a trip to Jamaica and provides enough time to relax on the beach while also venturing beyond the sun and sand for a mix of adventure and culture. Highlights include the cliff-jumping and scrumptious food of Negril’s West End, the culture and nightlife of Kingston, the coffee plantations in the Blue Mountains, and the beaches in Portland.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Montego Bay
Arrive at the airport in Montego Bay and check in for two nights stay.

Day 02: Montego Bay
Tour Rose Hall Great House in the morning, then spend the afternoon lazing at Doctors Cave Beach or try your hand at kiteboarding by Sea Castles in the afternoon, wind permitting.

Day 03: Montego Bay / Negril
Head west to Negril for cliff jumping on the West End or a splash at Brighton’s Blue Hole Mineral Spring by late morning. Head to Chill Awhile for lunch and soak up some rays before taking a sunset stroll down Seven-Mile Beach. Try Hungry Lion or Pushcart Restaurant and Rum Bar for dinner before checking out some live reggae music on the beach at night.

Day 04: Negril
In the morning, drive to Savanna-la-Mar and then turn inland to Mayfield Falls or Blue Hole Gardens. Spend the morning exploring the falls and gardens, then head over to nearby Paradise Park for horseback riding or a swim in the river followed by a picnic. Alternatively, grab a bite at Sweet Spice in Sav, then stop at Eldin Washington Ranch for Reggae Horseback Riding in the afternoon on the way back to Negril.

Day 05: Negril / Treasure Beach
Drive east to YS Falls in Middle Quarters for a splash in the river and an adrenaline-fixing zipline. Grab some jerk chicken at YS before heading to nearby Appleton Estate to sample Jamaica’s best rum. Continue on to Treasure Beach in the late afternoon to check in for the night and sample the conch soup and fried fish at Jack Sprat.

Day 06: Treasure Beach
Wake up with a dip at the beach in Great Bay before a mid-morning stroll to Back Sea Side. In the afternoon catch a canoe boat to Black River to spot alligators and birds or head straight to Pelican Bar, a one-of-a-kind watering hole and ramshackle fried fish joint built on stilts 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) offshore, for some snorkeling and Red Stripe. Cruise back to Treasure Beach for a second night.

Day 07: Treasure Beach / Kingston
Leave early for Kingston to get there by late morning, sightsee downtown with a visit to the National Gallery followed by a stroll along Ocean Boulevard and around Coronation Market. Stop by Liberty Hall or Culture Yard before heading uptown for lunch at Opa! or Chilitos. After lunch, take a tour at nearby Bob Marley Museum. Pick up some souvenirs and grab an ice cream at Devon House and prepare for a night out at a club or street dance.

Day 08: Kingston / Portland
Head up to the Blue Mountains before the late morning clouds roll in for a tour of Old Tavern Coffee Estate. Continue over to Portland to reach Port Antonio in time for an afternoon dip at Winnifred Beach.

Day 09: Portland / Ocho Rios
Depart for Ocho Rios, stopping at Firefly on the way to check out Noël Coward’s island digs. Lunch at Dor’s Fish Pot in Race Course or at Chris Café in Oracabessa and then head up to Mystic Mountain for a bobsled run and zipline tour through the canopy, or pet the sharks at Dolphin Cove. Take a late-afternoon dip and tube ride down the White River.

Day 10: Ocho Rios / Montego Bay
Get up and on the road early to beat the crowds for a climb up Dunn’s River Falls before heading west toward Montego Bay. Stop by Green Grotto Caves or Greenwood Great House on your way.

Day 11: Montego Bay
Final departure transfer to airport for flight back to home.

Day 05: Rio Grande Rafting, Portland

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kingston, Jamaica.
Welcome to Jamaica! your guide/driver will be waiting for you at Norman Manley International Airport arrivals to transfer you to your Kingston hotel accommodation.

{NOTE: Airport arrival instructions will be emailed to you 3 weeks before the starting date of your Jamaica travel.)

The evening group orientation begins with a welcome introduction and a summary of our 10-day long adventure.

Following the orientation, travellers are invited to join the group travel companion for a group dinner. Overnight in Kingston, Jamaica.

Day 02: Kingston Jamaica Highlights Tour
Kingston is the capital city, known to be the heartbeat of Jamaica. It’s packed with rich history, culture and food. We start this tour off by exploring the buzzing city of Kingston, Jamaica.

Sites include:
Fort Charles and the town of Port Royal: once referred to as “the wickedest city on earth”, it is the most important archaeological site in the Caribbean and the only underwater city in the Western Hemisphere.

Other sites include: Devon House, Bob Marley Museum, Emancipation Park, the University of the West Indies, and a few other Jamaica travel favorites!

Day 03: Blue Mountain Scenic Tour
Today you will take a scenic tour through Jamaica’s lush countryside and visit the Blue and John Crow Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the sixth highest mountain peak in the Caribbean.

Your Jamaica travel guide will accompany you on this trip as well as a local tour guide. The Blue Mountain area boasts very spectacular views and a diverse flora and fauna that can’t be seen anywhere else in the world!

You’ll pass through a military base which was established by the British military in 1840 and is now being used as a training camp for Jamaica Defence Force. You will be able to walk one of the trails that lead to a magical waterfall while admiring the splendid mountain and city views. Bring comfortable shoes for walking and a jacket, as it can get cold quickly in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica.

You’ll visit a coffee farm where you will see how the world famous Blue Mountain Coffee is produced. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, relax, and socialize in the traditional Jamaican way.

We will also stop for an afternoon lunch which consists of a succulent Jamaican meal and in-season fruit juice / Blue Mountain coffee. Overnight in Kingston, Jamaica.

Day 04: Jamaica Rainforest Exploration
In the morning, we travel to the North Coast of Jamaica while passing through small villages to the lush rainforest.

Our first stop is a natural, breathtaking lagoon where you will be able to enjoy the cool and refreshing water. Our next stop is the popular Dunn’s River Falls, one of Jamaica’s top travel attractions.

Enjoy a once in a lifetime experience and climb the cascading waterfalls surrounded by the natural greenery of the tropical rainforest.

The remainder of the afternoon can be spent enjoying the beach. What a great day to be in Jamaica!

Titchfield Peninsula: the first place to be settled by the English and known for its’ stunning architecture Musgrave Market, the buzzing heartbeat of Port Antonio supplying fresh fruits and vegetables.

World Famous Blue Lagoon: Jamaica’s largest spring fed lagoon that sits on a deep extinct Volcano.

Day 06: AM Water Rafting Tour & PM Waterfalls Tour
This morning we’ll travel to the most relaxing raft adventure in all of Jamaica.
The well-informed guide will pole you down the river while you relax and soak up the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Half-way down the river we will stop for a well-deserved Jamaican lunch. In the afternoon, we travel to Reach Falls – one of Jamaica’s most amazing waterfalls.

On our drive back to our accommodation, we will make a stop at Boston Jerk for tantalizing Jerk food. In the evening, listen to the waves and watch the sun set over the Caribbean Sea.

Life is good when you travel to Portland, Jamaica! Overnight in Portland, Jamaica.

Day 07: Montego Bay and Sunset Over Negril’s West End
After breakfast, we take a coastal drive to the second city, Montego Bay.

On route, we will stop at a historic landmark where we will listen to folklore and the stories behind one of the most historic plantations in Montego Bay.

After the interesting history tour, we will be transferred to Negril for a magical West Coast Sunset.

Day 08: South Coast Adventure and Optional Zipline
Today we will travel from the Negril hotel to the South Coast of Jamaica. Here you will see a variety of wildlife including crocodiles and birds.

Experience the greatest parts of Jamaica’s nature and climb the waterfall, zipline across the waterfall, and soak in the natural mineral pools. Travel destinations in South Coast, Jamaica:

Black River Safari: considered by many to be “Safari at its finest.” A boat ride will take you on the river where there will be crocodiles everywhere. After the boat ride, take a visit to the nursery where you can see and feed the baby crocs.

YS Falls: a hidden scenic treasure described as one of the most magical experiences and beautiful places in Jamaica. Relax in the natural mineral water and zipline and rope swing across seven cascading waterfalls. Seize the moment and experience a day in Jamaica you’ll never be able to forget.

Day 9: Free Morning at Negrl Beach & Afternoon Transfer to Kingston Jamaica
Today is a free beach day in Negril, Jamaica. Spend it relaxing or frolicking on Negril’s white sand beach – one of the most beautiful beaches in Jamaica.

The morning is yours to spend at your leisure: join a glass bottom boat adventure, rent a ski boat, or just take a relaxing day at the beach. In the afternoon, we travel to the capital city Kingston.

Day 10: Travel Around Jamaica Tour Ends
Picked up and transferred to catch your flight home at the Norman Manley International Airport.
