Western Sahara is a disputed territory on the northwest coast and in the Maghreb region of North and West Africa. About 20% of the territory is controlled by the self-proclaimed Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, while the remaining 80% of the territory is occupied and administered by neighboring Morocco.

Itinerary

Day 01: LAAYOUNE – WESTERN SAHARA
Arrive Laayoune meet assist and transfer to hotel.
Overnight at Hôtel

Day 02: LAAYOUNE – TAH – LAAYOUNE
After breakfast go on a Tour of Tah Village ; enjoy lunch in Tarfaya before visiting the Saint-Exupery museum.
Overnight at hôtel.

Day 03: LAAYOUNE – SABKAT LAMGHIR
After breakfast drive to Lamssayad, en route visit Ouad-Sakia (The source of the 16 Valleys) and Boukraa. Lunch in Laagade, visit and overnight in Sabkhat Lamghir.

Day 04: SABKAT – ELKHANFRA
After breakfast in the desert, depart to Essamara for visit, lunch in Ouad Essakia. In afternoon enjoy a sunset.

Day 05: ELKHANFRA – RED DUNES
After breakfast excursion to the red dunes for pictures. After lunch in Naila, board a motorized canoe to visit the lake. Drive back to your hotel and overnight.

Day 06: AKHFANIR – BUGGY
After breakfast drive to Tan Tan for visit, continue to Guelemin. After lunch in Labiar drive to the white beaches of buggy enjoy dinner by the sea.

Day 07: BUGGY BEACH – TIGHMERT
After breakfast go on a tour of the village of Tighmert
Overnight at Maison d’hôte

Day 08: DEPART TIGHMERT
Morning transfer to the airport for Casablanca for your ﬂight connecting ﬂight back home.

• Check-in / out time is 12 noon at most of the hotels.

• A visa is required and must be obtained prior to your departure from your Country.

• If quoted hotel is not available, we will provide one of a similar category and standard.

• Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on weather, road conditions, flight schedules and room availability.

• In case the government changes presently applicable taxes, increase in airlines prices, fuel surcharge our rates will need to be adjusted accordingly.

• In Asia, there is no relevance between the distance and time of travelling, as it depends upon the condition of the roads and congestion of the traffic.

• While every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary, in view of local strikes etc that are beyond our control all schedule and itineraries are subject to last moment changes.

Discover the wild and untamed lands of southern Morocco and the Western Sahara, swapping the acclaimed charms of Marrakech for more mysterious and far less-explored regions where deserts meet remote Atlantic coast communities in a magical melange of lagoons and dunes.

Begin in the lands of the Berbers with a crossing of the mighty High Atlas Mountains to enter the magical landscapes of the Draa Valley, then onto a world of huge dunes and salt lakes roamed by semi-nomadic desert people.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Marrakech
Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore Morocco’s most enigmatic city. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Marrakech – Ouarzazate
Cross the High Atlas via the stunning Tizi n Tichka pass, with superb views of the mountains along the way. Driving through the Berber heartlands we continue to the striking collection of kasbahs at Ait Ben Haddou, then drive to nearby Ouarzazate for the night. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley
Exploring this landscape of arid mountains, we meet isolated communities and some of the most traditional people in Morocco, some of whom still live in caves. Make our way towards the lush Draa Valley where we spend the night. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4-5: Erg Chegaga – Iriqui
Enter the Sahara and drive to the dunes of Erg Chegaga, much less known than the famous Erg Chebbi but equally impressive, then continue to the dry salt lake of Iriqui. End the day in Foum Zguid. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6-7: Guelmime – Ksar Tafnidilt
Continue to Guelmime, the last major town of Morocco proper and a former trading centre for the Saharan camel caravans. From here we head off on rough tracks along the beach, sandwiched between the dunes. Explore the remote region surrounding the Draa estuary, with tiny settlements and abandoned military posts. Overnights at Ksar Tafnidilt, a traditional style kasbah close to Tan Tan.

Day 08: Tarfaya
Travel south, our route taking us between the desert and the Atlantic Ocean, passing small caves inhabited by fishermen as well as the impressive Naila lagoon, an inland sea separated from the ocean by rows of dunes. Explore the lagoon by boat and in the afternoon we arrive at the small town of Tarfaya. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9-10-11: Laayoune – Western Sahara
Drive to Laayoune, the main town of Western Sahara. From here we meet our local Saharawi guide and embark on an expedition into this largely unknown area. We venture into an untamed landscape of dunes and desert, stopping at wells to meet the Reguibat nomads and their herds of camels that eke a living from this unforgiving habitat. We camp for two nights, then on Day 11 reach Dakhla and stay overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Dakhla
Spend the day exploring Dakhla and surrounds, with its superb beaches and opportunities to fish in the Atlantic. Overnight at hotel

Day 13: Depart Dakhla
Transfer to the airport for departure back to home.
