Day 01: Arrive Dhaka
At Bangladesh’s airport meet and greet your appointed guide and drive to your hotel. After freshening up, set out for Dhaka sightseeing including Dhaka university, Dhakeshwari Temple, Lallbag Fort, Sadarghat Water Front, and Shakari Bazar, with lots more too.  Drive back to your hotel and stay overnight.

Day 02: Dhaka – Khulna (265 Kms. / 5H 30M appx.)
After breakfast, drive and enjoy the heart of the country. On arrival, sightseeing of Khulna. Overnight in Khulna.

Day 03: Khulna – Sunderbans
Board your boat in the early morning and start on the cruise towards your mangrove honey collecting adventure. This full day of forest activities includes the early morning canal cruise, jungle trekking to look for honey, and, when you find one, cover up and let the professionals do their thing. Also, maybe here, you can have the chance to see the Royal Bengal Tiger. Late in the afternoon return to your boat and rest overnight.

Day 04: Sunderbans
Travel by country boat to see the forest and wild life from close up on the early morning Canal Cruise. After breakfast enjoy honey collecting activities and a cruise through the forest delta. We go to another location to experience different parts of Sundarbans.

Day 05: Sunderbans – Khulna
Today we cruise back to Khulna arriving in the evening. Overnight in Khulna.

Day 06: Khulna – Dhaka (265 Kms. / 5H 30M appx.)
After breakfast, drive to Dhaka.
On arrival, city tour of Dhaka.
Overnight in Dhaka.

Day 07: Depart Dhaka
Departure transfer to Dhaka airport for flight to onward destination.

Day 02: Dhaka – Khulna (265 Kms. / 5H 30M appx.)
After breakfast take a train or if you wish you can go by private van to Khulna on a day long journey with the locals. This takes around eight hours with some stops on the way, and is a journey that provides good views through the very heart of the country. Your hotel dinner will be waiting ready when you arrive.

Day 03: Sunderbans
Early in the morning get aboard your boat and start on your mangrove adventure.
A full day of forest activities follows, including the early morning canal cruise, jungle tracking and bird watching. It may be that you get the chance to see the Royal Bengal Tiger. Late in the  afternoon return to your boat to rest overnight.

Day 04: Sunderbans
An early morning Canal cruise by country boat permits you to see the forest and its wildlife from close by., After breakfast enjoy more jungle activities and the cruise through the forest delta to another location to see different parts of the Sundarbans.

Day 05: Sunderbans – Khulna
Today we cruise back to Khulna arriving in the evening.
Explore Khulna.
Overnight in Khulna.

Day 06: Khulna – Dhaka (265 Kms. / 5H 30M appx.)
After breakfast, drive back to Dhaka.

Day 02: Dhaka – Srimangal (182 Kms. / 4H 10M appx.)
Today will be a very exciting day. After breakfast head out to Srimangal. We will make some stops on the way. Meet up with the bamboo cutters to be shown the bamboo rafting process and mark some bamboo to cut the next morning. Enjoy a cup of tea and relax in your resort.

Day 03: Srimangal
After breakfast join the bamboo cutters and get involved in their daily activities by cutting bamboo. You then make a raft and ride it through the streams to the nearest market, where the bamboo is sold. You will be having meals with them. Take a good night’s rest and savour the memories of this day.

Day 04: Srimangal – Dhaka (182 Kms. / 4H 10M appx.)
After breakfast we start on our return to Dhaka. We will pause at the Lawachara rain forest, visit some tea estates and see some tribal villages near Srimangal town. After lunch in Srimangal, click your seat belt for Dhaka. Reaching Dhaka in the evening, there is time to relax before resting.

Day 05: Depart Dhaka
After breakfast transfer to airport where we say goodbye and wish you a safe flight home.

Day 1 Arrive Chengdu
Arrive to Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan province. Boasting lovely scenery and mild weather, delicious food and long history make this a popular city to visit.

Day 2 Giant Panda Breeding Center
Leave early this morning for a day at the Chengdu Panda Breezing Base, the largest one in the world. The base has a panda museum, adult panda villa, panda kindergarten, and beautiful swan lake. Normally, pandas live alone, but you will have the unique opportunity to see the panda mothers and babies together. You will have plenty of time to observe the creatures up close and take photos of them. As most of the pandas will fall asleep in the afternoon, it is advised to visit them in the morning and enjoy the scenery of the base later.

After your day with the pandas is complete, drive back to Chengdu in time for a Sichuan vegetarian meal this evening, a popular meal choice in this part of China.

Day 3 On to Kangding
Depart from Chengdu and head out of the Sichuan basin towards the mountains that guard the approach to the Tibet-Qinghai plateau. During a short 6 hour journey the landscape, climate, cuisine, language and custom of the people entirely change from Chengdu. Arrive to Kangding at 8500 ft (2600m). Kangding sits on the border of the plateau and is well populated by both Tibetans and Han Chinese. This fast growing city is quickly making improvements to host visitors including cable cars to noteworthy sites and its lively square is often filled with locals in the morning for Tai Chi, badminton and socializing. Late this afternoon visit the small Ngachu monastery used actively by locals monks. Followed it up with a community dance in the square where you are invited to participate!

Day 4 Kangding
Perched in a steep valley along the edge TIbet-Qinghai plateau, you notice this morning that everywhere you look in Kangding goes up! Take an optional cable car or hike after breakfast to the top of Paoma Mountain for an incredible view. Set out today on a fascinating introduction to this new land and its people. Visit the Tibetan Museum of Cultural History for a glimpse at the past, stroll through the markets later in the day and get an idea of why this town has been a key historical trading center between the Tibetans and Chinese.

Day 5 Ya Jia Gen Pass
Today drive 45 minutes out of town to the scenic mountain pass of Ya Jia Gen. Along the way pass by scenes of rural Tibetan life and ancient villages. At the top of the pass, the panoramic views are breathtaking. Enjoy lunch next to an alpine lake and explore the ridges by foot as you like. Your hiking today may be as light or challenging as you prefer, based on your ability to hike at this altitude. Return to Kangding for a Tibetan dinner this evening.

Day 6 Tagong Grasslands
This morning set out to drive up and over Zheduo Mountain pass at 13,800 ft (4200m) and drive 2 hours on to the nomadic trading village of Tagong which sits at 12,000 ft (3700m). Weather permitting you will see the peak of Gong-ga Mountain along the way, the highest peak in China outside of the Himalayas. This high altitude grassland region is home to many nomadic families who spend their days herding yaks. Stop along the way for photo opportunities as you like. The warmth of Tibetan hospitality awaits you at a local homestay tonight in Tagong. Enjoy time with your hosts as you learn more about their way of life.

Day 7 Tagong Monastery, on to Danba
This morning visit Lhagong, the monastery in Tagong wrought with an interesting history. Learn the ancient lore here about a Chinese princess who played a big role in introducing Tibet to Buddhism 1300 years ago before you set out for the 3 hour drive to Danba. The rugged beauty of this region provides stunning views of the most beautiful mountains in Eastern Tibet such as Yala mountain. Follow the seemingly endless mountain canyon down to the tucked away town of Danba at 6200 ft (1900m).

High up on one of the hills lies your destination for the next two nights, the quaint Tibetan village of Zhonglu. Your gracious host invites you into their home and show you many cultural relics from hundreds of years ago and introduces you to the history of the area and their traditional way of life.

Day 8 Zhonglu Hike
Today you set out for a relaxing hike on the surrounding slopes that offering beautiful views of the valley below with its terraced farms that the Tibetans have been cultivating for hundreds of years. Again you may make this a light or challenging hike depending on your preference on this day. This area is also well known for many ancient towers that sit in ruins dating back to hundreds of years during the warring period between Tibetan clans. A section of one 700 year old tower is used as part of the home where you are staying!

Day 9 Crossing Jiajin Mt.
This morning start your drive out of the mountains and descending down the plateau. Cross one more mountain pass, Jiajin Mountain, which sits at 13,000ft (4000m) for a final view from the Roof of the World. Descend down many canyons and switchbacks through mountain villages which remind you again why Tibet has remained so cut off from the rest of the world for most of its history. Arrive to Baoxing for the evening.

Day 10 Shangli Ancient Town, Return Chengdu
Get an early start today and enter another cross cultural time warp as you step back into China’s traditional past while exploring the narrow lanes of Shangli Ancient town. This quaint Chinese village offers a walk into China’s past, complete with streams flowing through the village, old architectural styles, and plenty of food to taste. The subtropical climate of the area is a notable contrast to the dry and arid plain of Tibet. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before taking the 2-3 hour scenic drive back to Chengdu this afternoon. A farewell dinner awaits you this evening as toast your travels in Tibet.

Day 11 Depart Chengdu
Transfer back to the airport for your flight on to your next destination.

Day 01 : Arrive Paro (Bhutan) by Flight
The flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular in entire Himalayas. Whether flying along the Himalayan range from Kathmandu or over the foothills from Kolkatta, the journey offers fascinating views and an exciting descent into the Kingdom. Bhutan’s first gift, as you disembark from the aircraft will be cool, clean fresh mountain air. After immigration formalities and baggage collection, you will be met by our representative, and afterwards transfer to the hotel.

Afternoon visit includes:
Ta Dzong: An ancient watchtower, which now houses the National Museum of Bhutan.

Paro Rinpung Dzong: Literally meaning ‘Heap of Jewels’, built in 1646. Some of the scenes in the film Little Buddha (1993) were filmed in this Dzong.

Kyichu Lhakhang: This temple is one of the oldest Buddhist temple in Bhutan. The Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo, to consecrate the entire region of Himalaya, in the 7th century miraculously built 108 temples. Kyichu Lhakhang is considered to be one of them.

In the evening walk around Paro town and valley at your own pace.

Day 02: Paro
After breakfast, drive to ruins of the Drukgyal Dzong: It was here that the Bhutanese finally defeated the invading Tibetans and drove them back. Peak of Jumolhari ‘Mountain of the Goddess’ can be seen on a clear day from here (7,314 m).

birding in bhutanThe valley of Paro is mainly Blue Pine Forests and not so favourable for bird life but the woodlands around the Drukgyel Dzong area will provide us a good indication of the great variety that is to come in the next few days. Some of the common species that can be seen in this area include, Black-faced laughing thrush, Chestnut-crowned laughing thrush, Brown Parrot bill, Chestnut-tailed Minla, Common Kestrel, Kalij Pheasant, White-collared Blackbird, Grey-backed Shrike. The more elusive birds that we may just locate are some marshland species such as the Black-tailed Crake and the Solitary Snipe.

Later, we will enjoy an excursion to Taktsang Monastery, one of the holiest monasteries in Bhutan, which was burnt down in 1988 but is now fully restored. Birds that can be seen in the valley here include Blue Whistling Thrush, Hodgson’s and Blue-fronted Redstart, Hoopoe, Rufous Sibia, White-collared Blackbird, Rufous-breasted Accentor, Long-tailed and Grey-backed Shrikes, and Yellow-billed Blue Magpie.

Taktsang, the ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery, appears to cling magically to the sheer rock face 915m above the valley. Legend has it that the Guru Padma Sambhava, riding a flying tiger, landed on the cliff when he came from Tibet in the 8th century. There he, and later his follower Dubthok Singye, meditated in a cave around which, 300 years ago, the monastery was built to celebrate his arrival. We will take our time here and are likely to spend most of the time in this wonderful setting and its surrounding forests. On our way up, we will make regular birding stops while enjoying the scenery.

Day 03: Paro – Chelela Pass – Thimphu (121km, Approx 4 hours drive)
Early morning embark on a fascinating journey to Chelela pass (3,780m). The road winds upwards through blue pine forests which slowly changes to higher elevation conifers such as spruce, hemlock, silver fir, juniper and finally at the summit the vegetation is mainly dwarf rhododendrons and open alpine meadows. Apart from fascinating views of Paro and Haa valley, from Chelela, we also get fantastic views of the sacred Mt. Jhomolhari (7,314m) and the adjacent Jichu Drake (6,797m).

The quest for the day will be the incredibly majestic Monal Pheasant which is one of the most colourful and strikingly patterned of all the world’s many pheasants. Here, the other typical species include Eurasian Sparrowhawk, Grey Nightjar, Yellow-billed Blue Magpie, Spotted (or Eurasian) Nutcracker, Long-tailed Minivet, Coal, Grey-crested and Rufous-fronted Tits, Black-faced Laughingthrush, White-browed Fulvetta, Rufous-vented Yuhina, Rufous-gorgeted Flycatcher, Buff-barred Warbler, Red-flanked Bluetail, Blue-fronted Redstart, Long-tailed Thrush, White-collared Blackbird, Mrs Gould’s Sunbird, Oliver-backed Pipit, the huge Collared Grosbeak, White-winged Grosbeak, and White-browed and Dark-rumped Rosefinches. With a bit of luck we will find some Altai Accentors lingering in their winter quarters.

After lunch, proceed to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan, en route taking a short stop at Chuzom, the confluence of Paro and Thimphu rivers.

Later at the afternoon, in Thimphu, visit :

Trashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion): A Doom (Blue Stone) Dzong was built on the hill above Thimphu in 1216 the lama Gyalwa Lhanampa. A few years later Lama Phajo Drugom Shigpo, who brought the Drukpa Kagyu lineage to Bhutan, took over Dohon Dzong. Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal (The one who unified the country) acquired the Dzong in 1641 from the descendants of lama Phajo and renamed it as Trashi Chhoe Dzong. The Dzong is the seat of the national government and the central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot of Bhutan) at present.

King’s Memorial Chorten: continuously circumambulated by people, murmuring mantras and spinning their prayer wheels. Construction of this landmark was the idea of Bhutan’s third king, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk (‘the father of modern Bhutan’) who has wished to erect monument to world peace and prosperity. Completed in 1974 after his untimely death, it serves both as a memorial to the Late King and as a monument to peace.birding in bhutan

Evening, exploratory walk around Thimphu main street, visiting the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts bazar, to browse through example of Bhutan’s fine traditional arts. Here you can buy hand-woven textiles, thangkha paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewelry, interesting items made from local materials.

Day 04 : Thimphu / Gangtey (150 km, Approx 5 hours drive)
Early morning embark on a Bird watching tour of Thimphu valley. Relatively dry, the Thimphu valley is surrounded by fine stands of Blue Pine and temperate evergreen forests. The increasing human settlement has pushed birding spots at least 10 kilometers further and now the ideal areas for birding are around the stream near Motithang and in and around Begana and Cheri villages.

Some of the bird species here include :
Blyth’s leaf Warbler, Black earned Kite, Blue whistling Thrush, Brown Parrotbil, Common Myna, Common Sandpiper, Common Kestrel, Eurasian Hobby, Fire tailed Sunbird, Greater short toed LarkGolden spectacled Warbler, Grey backed Shrike, Hodgson’s Redstart, Laughing Thrush, Long tailed Minivet, Oriental Skylark, Oriental turtle Dove, Oriental white eye, Red rumped Swallow Rufous Sibia, Ruddy breasted Crake, Spotted throated Yuhina, White browned Fulvetta, White capped Redstart, Yellow breasted Greenfinch, Brown Dipper, Black Eagle, Blyth’s Pipit Black browed Tit, Coal Tit, Common Buzzard, Eurasian Hoopoe, Eurasian sparrow Hawk, Grey bush Chat, Grey Wagtail, Grey sided Bush Warbler, Leomn rumped Warbler, Mountain hawk Eagle, Oriental honey Buzzard, Olive backed pipit, Plumbeous water Redstart, Rusty flanked Treecreeper, Red billed Chough, Rock Pigeon Spotted laughing Thrush, Tickell’s leaf Warbler, Whiskered Yuhina, White throated laughing Thrush.

Later in the day drive to Buddha Point (Kuenselphodrang). You can pay your obeisance and offer prayers to the Buddha, the largest statue in the country and then walk around and take a glimpse of the valley.

Then drive to Gangtey across Dochula pass (3,080m) which offers most spectacular view over high peaks of eastern Himalayas.

After lunch stop at Wangdue Phodrang, continue journey eastwards through Black Mountains region. The drive is relatively shorter and there are regular stops for birding and photography along the way. The road finally enters to forest of oak and rhododendron and then broad Phobjikha valley which is one of the few glacial valleys in Bhutan.

We can make a series of brief stops to scan the river channel en route. We may see Pallas’s Gull and Pallas’s Fishing Eagle here and add a number of other species.

Day 05 : Gangtey
The fascinating village of Gangtey sits on the ridge overlooking the large green expanse of the Phobjikha Valley. A large flock of Black-necked Cranes winters here, making this valley one of the most important wildlife reserves in the country.

birding in bhutanWe will check forest edges and explore some of the small patches of cultivation then continue our search in areas of productive forest near the end of our journey; here we will be looking for species such as:

Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan and the majestic Himalayan Monal. Past highlights at this location have included Himalayan Honeyguide, Crested Kingfisher, Tibetan Serin, Short-billed Minivet and Rufous-bellied Bush-robin. Spotted Laughingthrush, Yellowish-bellied Bush-Warbler, Rusty-flanked Treecreeper, White-browed Bush Robin and White-winged Grosbeak

Afternoon visit the Gangtey Gompa: Perched on a small hill that rises from the valley floor, the Gangtey Monastery is the only Nyingmapa monastery on the western side of the Black Mountain’s and also the biggest Nyingmapa monastery in Bhutan. The Monastery is surrounded by a large village inhabited mainly by the families of the 140 Gomchens who take care of the Monastery.

Also visit Black Neck Crane Information Centre. Situated on the edge of the forest and wetland along the main road of Phobjikha valley, the black-necked crane information Centre has an observation room equipped with high power telescope and spotting scopes for catching the best view of the cranes. The centre also offers display information that outline the natural and cultural history of the area. There is a small gift shop, which sells handicrafts produced by the local people.

Day 06: Gangtey / Punakha (85 Km, Aapprox. 3 hours drive)
After breakfast, drive to Punakha. The road passes through a temperate type of leafy forest where rhododendron and magnolia bloom in March and April, then a semi tropical zone where orange trees, banana trees and cactuses are found in abundance.

Until 1955, Punakha served as capital of Bhutan and still it is winter seat of Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot.

Before entering Punakha town en route take a short excursion to Chimi Lhakhang: Situated on a hillock in the centre of the valley, this temple is dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley, who in the late 15th century used humour, songs and outrageous behaviour to dramatise his teachings and due to this also known as ‘Divine Madman’. This temple is also known as the temple of fertility. It is widely believed that couples who do not have children and wanting one, if they pray at this temple, they are usually blessed with a child very soon.

After lunch, visit the Punakha Dzong : Built strategically at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to serve as the religious and administrative centre of the region, Punakha Dzong has played an important role in Bhutan’s history. Damaged by four catastrophic fires and an earthquake, the Dzong has been fully restored by Fourth King.

Later in the evening, visit Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang nunnery : Perched on a ridge amid pine trees and overlooking valleys of Punakha and Wangduephodrang, gleams the magnificent structures of Sangchhen Dorji LhuendrupLhakhang(Temple). The temple houses a 14-foot main bronze statue of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrigzigchagtongchentong). The temple complex also houses a permanent higher learning and meditation centre for nuns where, apart from religious trainings, it provides life skill training such as tailoring, embroidery, statue making and thangkha painting.

Day 07: Punakha (Tashitang Valley Excursion)
Here, at an elevation of approximately 1,400 metres, it is noticeably warmer than at most of the elevations encountered so far on the tour. As a consequence, bird activity is at its greatest in the cooler early morning. birding in bhutan

We will spend most of the morning birding along a broad track that follows the thunderous Mo Chu River through delightful tracts of broad-leaved forest. The Mo Chu River and its stony banks and islands often harbour many of the special birds that make Himalayan rivers such a joy for birdwatchers. Plumbeous Redstarts and White-capped River Chats feed from boulders, Brown Dippers flash noisily up and down, Blue Whistling Thrushes look rather ungainly, and less demonstrative species such as River Lapwing, the giant Crested Kingfisher, Slaty-backed Forktail and Ibisbill may also be found. We will be focusing on nesting Ibisbill, the very rarely observed and globally threatened White-bellied Heron, River Lapwing, Red-headed Trogon, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Striated Bulbul, the glowing Little Niltava, all three tesias (the Chestnut-headed is a gem), Pygmy Blue-Flycatcher, Pygmy Wren-babbler, the infrequently seen and very striking Rufous-chinned Laughingthrush, Red-faced Liocichla and the stunning Scarlet Finch. The Tashitang Valley is a truly beguiling spot, full of wonderful colours and soul enriching scenery.

In the forest we may see Himalayan Swiftlet, Great Himalayan, Blue-throated and Golden-throated Barbets, Greater and Lesser Yellow-naped Woodpeckers, Maroon Oriole, Ashy and Hair-crested Drongos, and a wide variety of attractive Himalayan flycatchers, leaf warblers, flycatcher-warblers, nuthatches, flower peckers and sunbirds. Among the more unusual forest species recorded here are Bay Woodpecker, Long-tailed Broadbill, Red-headed Trogon, White-gorgetted Flycatcher and Yellow-vented Warbler, perhaps the most stunning of the leaf warblers (of the genus Phylloscopus).

We will then return to Punakha and later in the afternoon explore farther along the river, where we will be on the lookout for Ibis bill and Bar-headed Geese on the surrounding gravel beds, as well as migrants such as the lovely Ruddy Shelduck. This valley is an important migration conduit, and almost anything could turn up. If we are lucky we could also see Great Black-headed Gulls and rafts of northern ducks en route to their breeding grounds in Tibet.

Later in the afternoon, excursion to Talo village, which is scattered along the hill slopes and known for its cleanliness and hygiene among Punakha villages. Talo is the seat of the mind incarnations of the Zhabdrung. Talo Sangnacholing Dzong is built on a plateau and has majestic view of surrounding villages. The beautiful farm houses of the village have its own flower gardens and on the hill slope corns and sweet peas are grown in abundance. Spend time at Nobgang and Talo villages visiting farm houses and meeting families, experiencing Bhutanese rural life.

Also visit Nalanda Buddhist Institute. Locals call this place ‘Dalayna’ and the monks call it Nalanda Buddhist College. The Nalanda Buddhist Institute is a monastic school near the village of Talo, above the Punatsangchu river. Here you’ve opportunity to interact with monks, for knowledge on Buddhism, process of meditation.

Day 08 : Punakha / Paro (125 Km, Approx. 4 hours drive)
After breakfast, a beautiful hike takes one to the regal Khamsum Yuelley Namgel Chorten (approx. 2 hours round trip walk), which was built to remove negative forces and promote peace, stability and harmony in the changing world. The Chorten dominates the upper Punakha Valley with commanding views across the Mo Chhu and up towards the mountainous peaks of Gasa and beyond.

Then drive back to Paro descending down from Dochu La, follow the way back up the dramatic Wang Chhu and Paro Chhu river valleys, before crossing through Paro Town towards the north end of the valley.

En route visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the country built in 1627 which now houses the School for Buddhist studies.

Later in the evening, drive to Lango village to experience rural Bhutanese life. A visit to Farm House is very interesting and offers a good glimpse into the lifestyle of a farmer. Panna National Park is a national park located in Pann and Chhatarpur districts of Madhya Pradesh in India. It has an area of 542.67 km (209.53 sq mi). City palace The City Palace was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of the Kachhwaha clan of Rajputs, but a lot of changes and additions were made to the original structure by his successors. The architecture of the City Palace is a synthesis of Rajasthani and Mughal styles.
Jantar Mantar The Jaipur observatory was built in 1728. There is actually a fascinating story in relation to the construction of the Observatory. According to the story, Sawai Jai Singh II sent his envoys to various parts of the world. The observatory has the Jaiprakash Yantra, Samrat Yantra, Ram Yantra and the Composite instrument, which comprises of a sundial and a massive hemisphere.
Hawa Mahal The palace is shaped like a pyramid and is a five-storied building, with number of small windows and screens, with arched roofs. As one looks at this building, one realizes that the rear side of the building is comparatively very plain and lacks much of ornamentation.

Diwan-I-Am: Diwan-I-Am or the Hall Of Public Audience was used for the public meetings, as was the practice in Mughal empires. All the celebrations and public prayers were conducted here.
Diwan-khana-I-khaas- This enclosure that is Hall of Private Audience was used for private and special meetings. It was beautifully designed.
Salim Chisti’s Tomb Fatehpur Sikri in India Tomb of religious leader Sheikh Salim Chisti is surrounded by marbles, geometric work screens and the canopy above is inlaid with mother-of-Pearl. This holy place is worshiped by both Hindus and Muslims. The architectural wonder of Mughal era is a must visit tourist point in Fatehpur Sikri
The Jami Masjid: This mosque in Fatehpur Sikri is the largest mosque in India. Within the masjid, there is tomb of royal ladies, Stone Cutter’s mosque that is the oldest place of worship in Fatehpur Sikri. There is large courtyard.
Buland Darwaza- ranks among the biggest gateways in world and is the highest and grandest gateway of India. A 13-meter high flight of steps is provided to approach it. The gate was built in 1602 AD to mark the Akbar’s victory over Deccan.

Agra – Historians suggest Agra to be the Agravana in the epic Mahabharata. It is expected to be known as Agralapura during the medieval age. An archaeological fact pushes the existence of Agra back to three million years. The Lodi dynasty ruled over Agra for a long time. It was in the onset of the sixteenth century that the Mughals took over the ruling of Agra from the hands of Lodi’s.
Taj Mahal Shah Jahan the great emperor and a great builder constructed Taj Mahal in the loving memory of his beloved wife Anjuman Bano Begum. Shah Jahan met this beautiful girl in his young age and later gets married with her. Taj Mahal completed in 1653 A.D. finished in by white marble, it is perhaps India most fascinating and beautiful monument. Not only is it recognized in just India but also all over the world. These perfectly symmetrical monuments took 22 years (1630-1652) of hard labor and 20,000 workers.

Red Fort – The construction of the Agra fort was started around 1565 when the initial structures were built by Akbar. Shah Jahan replaced most of these with his marble creations. Some however survived, among them are – Delhi Gate., Amar Singh Gate, Akbari Mahal and the Jehangir Mahal. The fort is crescent shaped, flattened on the east with a long, nearly straight wall facing the river.
Itimad Ud Daulah tomb- The first example of a tomb built on a riverbank in India, the Itimad Ud Daulah tomb houses the body of Mirza Ghiyas Beg, the father Mughal Empress Noor Jahan who again was Emperor Jahangir’s wife. This beautiful tomb situated on the banks of the Yamuna is also known as the ‘baby Taj’. Built around 1625 AD.

Raj Ghats – Along the banks of Jamuna are located the places were the leaders and freedom fighters of India were cremated. The Raj Ghat is one of the most visited ghats. A simple square platform of black marble marks the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated after his assassination in 1948.

Situated at the Apollo Bunder, the gateway holds greater historical significance as the last of the British troops that left India by sea, marched through its portals.

Kanha National park is located in Banjar and Halon valleys in the Mandla / Balaghat districts of the state of Madhya Pradesh. Kanha National Park is one of the India’s finest tiger reserves. It is spread more than 940 sq km in a horse shoe shaped valley bound by the spurs of the Mekal range the park presents a varies topography.

Kanha national park is more famous for its wildlife; the natural beauty of its landscape is just as fascinating. One of the best locations to enjoy that bounty is Bammi Dadar, also known as the sunset point.

Kanha also shelters one of the largest populations of the tigers in the country. Some of the other larger animal species found in the park are sloth bear, leopard, striped hyena, spotted dear, wild boar, jungle cat, jackal and a variety of monkeys. Over 200 spices of birds have been spotted in the park. There is much folklore about how it got kanha name. Some say it came from kanha, the clay like soil of the river bottoms, other say the area is named for kanha a holy forest sage, who once lived here and was the father of shakuntala, whose son was Bharat and whose story was told in our legends.

Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the finest national park in the India and has the distinction of harboring the highest concentration of tigers per unit area of forest. At the center of the park is the bandhavgarh hill; rising 811 meters above sea level and surrounding it are a sloping valleys, These valleys end in small, swampy meadows locally known as “bohera”.

Bandhavgarh National Park was the former hunting preserve of the Maharaja of Rewa and at present is a famous natural hub for White Tigers. White Tigers, now a major attraction around the world’s zoos, were first discovered in Rewa, not far from here. The terrain is broken, with rocky hill ranges, running roughly east west, interspersed with grassy swamps and forested valleys.

Indigenous water birds and many migratory water birds can be seen in this sanctuary along with larger animals such as Sambhar, Chital, Nilgai and Boar.

Day 13 Bharatpur–Delhi (By Road) (190 Kms/Approx 3½ Hrs)/Depart Delhi
After breakfast drive towards Delhi. On arrival half day city tour.
Later transfer to airport to catch the flight for home.

New Delhi – Rajpath – Flanked by ornamental ponds and lawns, Rajpath is host to the Republic Day Parade. The two secretariat buildings and Rashtrapati Bhawan on the Raisina hills are located on the two sides of this immensely broad road.

India Gate is a 42m high stone arch of triumph. It bears the name of the 85,000 Indian Army Soldiers who died in the campaigns of WW1, the North-West Frontiers operations and the 1919 Afghan Fiasco. Below the arch is the memorial to the Unknown Soldier. India Gate is surrounded by green grass lawns and trees. Parliament House- Sansad Bhawan or the Parliament house is the supreme law making body in the country. It is the center of power and politicians decide the fate of the Indian Democracy here.

Qutab Minar – In 1199, Qutbuddin raised the Qutab Minar either as a victory tower or as a minaret to the adjacent mosque. From a base of 14.32 mtrs. it tapers to 2.75 mtrs. At a height of 72.5 mtrs.

Lakshmi Narayan Temple – This temple was build by G. D. Birla in 1938. This beautiful temple is located in the west of Connaught Place. The temple is dedicated to the goddess of prosperity and good fortune. The temple has well grafted gardens. It is also known as the Birla Mandir visit to Local Indian Restaurant for Dinner. After dinner transfer to airport for flight back to home.

Day 10 Nameri – Kaziranga (By Road) (117 Kms / Approx 4 Hrs)
After Morning breakfast driver towards Kaziranga on arrival check in at the hotel / Camp. Afternoon visit National Park. Return back to hotel overnight stay at the hotel.

A World Heritage Site, the park hosts two-thirds of the world’s Great One-horned Rhinoceroses. Kaziranga boasts the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. The park is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. Kaziranga is recognized as an Important Bird Area by Birdlife International for conservation of avifaunal species. Compared to other protected areas in India, Kaziranga has achieved notable success in wildlife conservation. Located on the edge of the Eastern Himalaya biodiversity hotspot, the park combines high species diversity and visibility.

Kaziranga is a vast expanse of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, crisscrossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, and the park includes numerous small bodies of water. Kaziranga has been the theme of several books, songs, and documentaries. The park celebrated its centennial in 2005 after its establishment in 1905 as reserve forest.

There are number of buildings built by the Royal family sightseeing tour of Mysore visiting the palace of the Maharaja built in 1911-12. The palace is a harmonious synthesis of the Hindu and saracenic styles of architecture with magnificent Archways, Domes, Turrets, Colonnades and Sculptures. Also visit the Art Gallery, drive up to Chamundi hill to see Chamundeshwari Temple & panoramic view of Mysore. On your way back see the Nandi Bull -a monolith structure. Later continue drive towards Nagarhole on arrival check in at the resort overnight in Nagrhole.

Bandipur National Park is known for its wildlife and has many types of biomes, but dry deciduous forest is dominant. Established in 1974 as a tiger reserve under Project Tiger, is a national park located in the south Indian state of Karnataka. It was once a private hunting reserve for the Maharaja of the Kingdom of Mysore.

Periyar – is one of the most well preserved biosphere reserves in India and is an important tourist attraction in the state of Kerala. It was in the year 1933 that S.C.H. Robinson was made the first game warden of the park and a year later Nellikkampatty Game Sanctuary was formed here. Another important event took place in the Periyar’s history when it was declared a wildlife sanctuary. Due to an appreciable number of tigers in this sanctuary it was declared as Tiger reserve in the year 1978, thus adding to the park’s importance. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13 Periyar – Cochin 107 Kms / Approx 2½ Hrs / Cochin – Home By Flight
After breakfast drive towards Cochin. On arrival city tour of Cochin.
Cochin – the palm green commercial town of Kerala has one of the finest natural harbours in the world. Known as commercial capital of Kerala, Kochi is also offers forts, palaces, beaches, backwaters, old churches, snakes boat races, Kathakali, and museums etc. Kochi is basically a collection of islands and narrow peninsulas which makes it more attractive for nature lovers. Cochin is sometimes referred to as the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’

Santa Cruz Basilica – This monumental church dates back to 1558 and has beautiful paintings on the ceiling.

St. Francis Church – Built in 1503 by Portuguese Friars, it is the India’s oldest European church. It was restored in 1779 by the protestant Dutch, converted to an Anglican Church by the British in 1795, and is presently used by the church of South India.

Mattancherry – Palace It was built by the Portuguese in 1557 and presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Cochin. The Dutch renovated the palace in 1663. On display here are beautiful murals depicting scenes from the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata and some of the Puranic legends.

Bolghatty Palace – A beautiful island near the Ernakulam, Bolghatty is famous for the Bolghatty Palace built by the Dutch. The Bolghatty palace, once the residence of the British resident of Cochin, is now a KTDC (Kerala Tourism Development Corporation) hotel.
