Day 01: Accra- Arrival
On arrival at Kotoka International Airport, our expert cultural tour guide will meet, assist, and transfer you to your hotel in our private air-conditioned vehicle. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Shai Hills Reserve – Akosombo
We will pick you up from the hotel lobby at 8 am after breakfast. Drive about an hour to the outskirts of Accra to Cedo Beads. At cedo you will see the production of beads. Continue to Shai Hills Resource Reserve arriving late morning. The forest guard will guide you for about two hours hiking to the Shai people’s ancestral caves. You can’t miss seeing some wildlife like Kobs, Olives Baboons, monkeys and several species of birds. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Akosombo- Wli- Biakpa
After breakfast, visit Wli waterfalls- the highest waterfall in Ghana. You will trek through a dense tropical forest and cross the meandering Agumatsa River at 11 places before you arrive at the waterfall. Later, you will visit Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary where the endangered but playful true Mona monkeys are considered sacred and are therefore protected. Walk on a well-cleared trail and view the monkeys in their natural habitat. After a short break continues to Gbledi Gbogame for a drive to the foot of Mountain Afadjato (29054ft) the highest peak in Ghana. From there trek uphill through a steep and well-shaded footpath Within less than two hours after ascent you will reach the summit. The panoramic view is stunning, however, if it is foggy it could affect the beautiful view of the valleys and villages. Another peak higher which is only a couple of meters at the western edge of Ghana sits in Togo. You drive from Gbledi to Golowati to the Tagbo falls for another 45 minutes trek on fairly flat land. Before the sunset, you will drive back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Biakpa- Kumasi
Today after breakfast you will embark on a long drive to Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti kingdom. Tour Manhiya palace the official residence of the Ashanti kings (Asantehene) until 1974. It is now a museum containing treasured items related to the Ashanti kingdom. You will also see the Okomfo Sword, the ultimate symbol of Ashanti unity. It marks the spot where the golden stool ‘descended from the sky.’ It has been there for 300 years now, and legend has it said the Ashanti kingdom would collapse was the sword ever removed. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Ashanti Kingdom
After breakfast, visit the Ashanti craft villages such as the woodcarving village of Ahwiaa, well- known for artisans who fashion high stools, walking sticks, and fertility dolls from wood. You can purchase carved items of all kinds. Followed by the village of Ntonso where artisan’s hand-stamp patterns on a cotton cloth to make Adinkra textiles. Black-on-black and blank-on-red Adinkra cloth is worn on funeral and solemn occasions. You will have an opportunity to learn how to make black dye from the bark of trees. You can make your Adinkra sash to take home. Later continue to the village of Bonwire, the famous Kente cloth is handmade on looms in the time-honored tradition passed down through generations. In the process of creating Kente cloth in various styles, you will see kente weavers. You can purchase souvenirs or gifts. In the evening visit the Kumasi Central Market, also known as Kejetia Market. It is the largest open-air market in West Africa where more than 10000 vendors sell their wares. Dinner and overnight at Noda Hotel or similar.

Day 06: Kumasi – Tamale
Depart Kumasi for Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana via Buabeng –Fiema Monkey Sanctuary in the Brong Ahafo Region. Buabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary is Ghana’s most famous example of traditional African conservation. The sanctuary is nestled in between the two villages of Buabeng and Fiema; the sanctuary is home to over 200 Geoffrey’s Pied Columbus and 500 Campbell’s Mona Monkeys. For more than 150 years the people of Boabeng and Fiema have considered the monkeys sacred. The traditional beliefs in both communities prohibit physical harm to the monkeys. Additionally, the 2 communities came together in 1975 to pass a law prohibiting harm to the monkeys. Continue to Tamale. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07: Mole National Park
After breakfast depart Tamale for the Mole National Park. Mole National Park is Ghana’s largest wildlife refuge. The park is located in northwest Ghana on grassland savanna and riparian ecosystems at an elevation of 150 m, with sharp escarpment forming the southern boundary of the park. The park’s entrance is reached through the nearby town of Larabanga. The Lovi and Mole Rivers flow through the park, leaving behind only drinking holes during the long dry season. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Mole- Cape Coast
Today you will embark on a long drive to Cape Coast with a stop at the Gold mine town of Obuasi and Assin Manso, the burial site of two famous slaves from the US and Jamaica. Visit the’ Slave River’ where capture African bathed before being confined into slavery castles waiting for shipment to the Americans and the Caribbean. In the evening, go for a guided tour through the ancient town of Elmina. View the colorful fishing canoes getting ready to go to the sea from another night’s task of fishing. There is an excellent opportunity for photographers. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09: Elima Castle
Visit the Elmina Castle, a UNESCO world heritage site built-in 1482. It was the first European structure built in sub- Saharan Africa. At noon, have a guided tour through cape coast Castle and Castle Museum. The cape coast castle was a departure point for Africans being sent into slavery in the Americas while the castle museum was a home of ‘Door of No Return. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Kakum National Park – Accra
Visit one of the most famous parks in Ghana, Kakum National Park. Take a brief walk through the forest floor. See birds, butterflies, and perhaps capture a variety of mammal species including the monkeys and reclusive forest elephant. Continue to the canopy walk, a 1000 foot long and seven- bridge walkway viewing platforms that reach heights if 150 feet above the ground. At noon, back to Accra via the village of Abandze of the home of Louis Armstrong, the famous American Jazz Musician. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Accra City Tour- Departure
After breakfast dropped at the airport to catch your onward flight.
